The other day I bid on, and won, an 1891 Blickensderfer #5 portable typewriter. When it arrived, I was amazed how small and handy it was. All of its parts could probably be made in a smithy, including the ingenious rotating type cylinder, a great idea which, family lore has it, was later borrowed by some guy named Thomas Watson.

The little Blickensderfer #5 sucks at playing Netflix movies, but it's still pretty cool.
