    Japan...

One manga in which fat people are drawn as just fat people, with no negativity, is "What's Michael?" It's all about a cat, see... anyway, I love it, it's hilarious, and the fat people (and fat cats) are not put down.

    Asian Pickled Vegetables

It's just the kind the store puts together. They're in a little clear plastic box, swimmin' around in the brine. Little deli price tag on top with a barcode. Delicious as hell. I'mma get some to snack on now.

    Foodee Complaints

I have a complaint about improperly warmed up airline dinner rolls. Biting down into frozen mush is not my idea of transatlantic fun.

    Meet the Natives USA

I just re-watched the New York one. The one guy said all you need to survive in old age is money and love... and then we meet the beggar on the street... The guys from Vanuatu aren't impressed with appearances. They see things quite clearly.

    Fox News:Fat Airline Passenger Shock-Horror!

It's a matter of time before there's a set-up next to the bars to measure suitcases for carry-on... "If you are wider than these bars, you will need to purchase an additional seat and then bend waaaaaay forward because the armrest only goes up 45 degrees, which will mean you'll suffocate if...

How to Find a Good Fiesta Market

So I thought I'd be helpful and see where they are... they're in Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Houston. They're a chain of supermarkets that caters to Mexican and Central American tastes. Great source of food from way down south. Great fresh tortillas. Seriously.

KiraNYC acknowledged in an article on Size Acceptance!

Indeed. HAES is something that can get people AES to see the doctor. Shaming just keeps them away for social reasons. One day, we'll feel a collective pang of guilt about the way fat people have been ostracized and then strive to not do that any more.

Infuriating UK newspaper columnist strikes again!

Yep, it's hypocrisy. Silly lady. I'd rather listen to Dawn French than Kate Moss, anyway... But it's part of how we act in society that determines how we value the comments of others based upon external factors. We have to take a stand and not retreat when the riducule shows up to drive us from...

    Japan...

My one experience with Japan was getting wheeled through Narita Airport to a connecting flight to China. I'm 6'4" and 220, so I rate "friggin' huge" on their size-o-meters. The JAL staff were all totally helpful, friendly, and gave excellent service in every way. Of course, that was their job...

    Meet the Natives USA

Anyone else following this on Travel Channel? I'm almost totally in agreement with the guys from Vanuatu in their observations and really appreciate the insight and wisdom from the chief in the group. And "Happy Man" as a job? Dude, where do I sign up? I'd love to be a professional Happy Man.

    I Love Glee!!!

Saw the fall finale. Loved it. I confess, Glee has gone from being a guilty pleasure to a fixture in my viewing schedule. I actually like the over the top plot twists. It's like a month's worth of soap operas in every hour episode.

How to Find a Good Fiesta Market

I love Fiesta supermarkets, when they're done right. I've been confronted with Fiestas that took over from older markets that failed to add in all the things I expect at a full service Fiesta. So here's my checklist: 1. TORTILLA MACHINE, FRONT AND CENTER When I walk in, I better see a...

    Asian Pickled Vegetables

I'm starting to be addicted to these bad boys. I buy a box of pickled carrots and radishes at the Vietnamese market for about $2 and they last about a week if I don't have any help eating them. There's a gentle sour taste to them, but the vegetable flavor goes right along with them and...

    LOST: Season Six

I'm a fan of the way BG ended, btw... wrapped things up and felt right. For this season, they've got lots of loose ends to wrap up neatly. I'm still suspicious about how Monk solved his wife's murder, but didn't get the six-fingered man. That's bugging me. In a show about being OCD, you think...
