    You be the concert promoter

5: jes a lil blues to get everyone in the mood: the late Roy Buchannon in his prime. 4: a bit of ochestral jazz - Jon McGlothlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra circa 1970 (Visions of Emerald Beyond - with Jean Luc Ponty on Violin ) 3: crossing over - Blood Sweat and Tears at their height -...

The last movie you watched... and score out of ten - Part 1

A Happy Accident - a wonderful film that, for the most part, keeps you guessing - in the end it's really about creating your own reality and the belief in the power of love (or at least that's my slant on it!) I'd give it a 9 out of 10 - maybe because I was in the mood for something romantic...

The last movie you watched... and score out of ten - Part 1

a very quirky film from circa 2004 that can only be described as "art". Still, I found it quite interesting on several levels. Check out the credits - the main actress (the quirky artist) is also the writer/director - life immitates art. I'd give it 8-10

Your weight on your driver's license

weight is soooo subjective - body mass vs fat content - I myself am up 20 lbs from my previous high, but I was very fit then and mostly flab now, so the 20 looks like 40 or more. My weight hasn't changed much in the last year, but I know I've lost muscle and gained flab, so while I weigh...

The last movie you watched... and score out of ten - Part 1

finally showed up on HBO - what a riveting film! Of late I really enjoyed "shopgirl", written by Steve Martin (who also plays the charactor who the entire world works around - it's almost like he's not there, which is, of course, the point.) I'd give it 8/10

Your weight on your driver's license

I moved from CA to Nevada 6 years ago and the Nevada DMV was too lazy to even ask if my info was correct - they just copied the info from CA - even though at the time I was already heartily into my self feeding lifestyle and was 40 pounds heavier - I don't think the woman at the DMV could have...

The last movie you watched... and score out of ten - Part 1

just watched a Cusak film called "Max" (gee, why would I be interested in a title like that, I wonder?)- while the story line seems absurd - a jewish art dealer befriends a young Hitler at the end of WWI - the acting and photography were fabulous and it certainly brought up some serious issues...

    World of Warcraft

what was I thinking - factions is game 2 - heroes were introduced with Nightfall, game 3. Sorry bout that.

    World of Warcraft

it's just great that you all are so into WoW - anything that takes your mind away from the day to day is just fine by me. However - a couple of you mentioned that you "beta tested" GW - to my knowledge the only beta ANet had were "beta weekend" in the couple of weeks prior to the launch of...

What famous woman would you want to fatten?

Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle - bet Boris would LOVE that.

    World of Warcraft

to my knowledge the Beta for all 3 of the GW games was limited to extended weekend events. Perhaps you were an ALPHA tester? (In most cases the distinction isn't that large, but in this one, with the way Arenanet set up their testing, it's a big deal). Different strokes fer different folks...

really people, no Jennifer Hudson love threads yet?

and yet Insider (the TV gossip fest) made a much bigger thing about Beyonce having lost 20 pounds during the filming of Dreamgirls (as required) - she corrected them by saying it was only 10 pounds and her "secret diet plan" as Insider put it, was dieretics. Wow, what a revelation!!!! he he...

    Daily activism -- part 3 -- McDonald's part two

all very interesting and informative stuff Russell. Thanks for sharing - I hope McD's gets the message (I don't eat there as I find their food well below the level of just about all the other fast food chains - but that's just my personal preference).

Manifest Destiny - Big Beautiful Dreamer (~BHM, Eating, ~MWG)

terrific story Dreamer. Well written, well paced and very believable (I've often had this sort of escapist fantasy myself). Latte Girl (at Maxout's story shop) was my attempt at something in this direction - I especially liked the concept of re-inventing yourself. Well done!! :)

50 worst artist in music history - agree?

regardless of the drug of choice - they were still way beyond anything that anyone else was willing to put out there - the concept of communal thought was only a rumour amongst jazz purists at the time - been there as a musician myself - when you can channel into the cosmic consciousness some...

    Favourite WG stories

thanks Gho$t - I'm glad the story reached you. I've got another tale that is just about finished (I think) - just need to re-read to make sure I'm saying all that I want to - should have it after the holidays (I'll post it on my site and attempt to add it here at dimensions as well - it's a...

50 worst artist in music history - agree?

any band that would attempt doing clasical works may indeed be considered pompous, but you have to give elp credit - they brought a ton of that music to the ears of a new generation. I was already aware of Mousorski's (sic) work, but thought the ELP version of Pictures was awesome. They also...

    Favourite WG stories

woo hoo, I made someone's list! Good golly, I wrote "The Prisoner" quite some time ago and had to go and re-read it to remember what it was about. As the title suggests, I was aiming at something existential. I'm so glad you enjoyed the tale - as I recall, it was written when I was very weary...
