I grow old, I grow old

My forties were my very best decade. Life was neon in my forties. Now 50 - everything started going to hell that year. 31 and 50 are the only birthdays I grieved over. ETA: I still don't have any grey hairs, though. :)

    Clothing/Fashion Confession

I confess I buy all kinds of make-up and spend altogether too much money on it and then never wear it. It's just fun to play with.

    Lemonette

I pressed a link this morning off one of the posts here to listen to some music on YouTube and when it ended, there was this picture of a fat woman to the side of the screen. I pushed it because, well, she was a FAT woman. And low and behold, I discovered the Belle of the YouTube Ball...

    Dear Santa

Gosh, I can't believe I missed this invitation. You want lecherous? 'cmere little girl and I'll give you a piece of this bird poop I'm cleaning off my windshield. How's that!?! Well, Miss Frankie, I don't think I told you the history of the name Choo Choo Chilleski, did I? It's "choo choo"...

    What accent do you have?

Wow. This thing is right on. Your Result: The Inland North You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call...

This is what the Jazz is All About, Ya See?

Yeah - kinda like the best photographic artists still use film.

This is what the Jazz is All About, Ya See?

Jazz in my favorite music. It saddens me to think that so many of the younger generation haven't had exposure to it. It's lyrical and inventive and can be screamingly funny. Some of the best musicians in the world are jazz guys. One of the best things about my last relationship was our mutual...

Recipes from the food pics thread.

Friday :) Thanks for bumping the thread. I would have never found it. Okay - there's really not a whole lotta recipe here because it's my own. I have a wok-like frying pan. I heat up sesame oil and while that's heating, I slice up a boneless chicken breast and three cloves of garlic (mince it)...

Everyday food pics - come peek!

Great thing to make to use up veggies - as long as you have cabbage, onions and garlic. In this version, I added chopped scallions, broccoli and whole cashews to top it off.

Pan, what kind of bread is that with your curry photo? Does it have cheese on it?

    Hello

No need to take a poll. This thread was about making me feel better about myself because someone else is dorky. And she's REALLY dorky now - she has a pink cast in addition to being unable to make a poll. Lordy, I feel so superior because I can make a poll and when I had a cast, it was only...

    Silence

Nope, you're not the only one, Toods. I love music - am very passionate and also very emotional about it -- therefore, I have to be in the right mood to listen to it because otherwise it can put me in a certain mood I may not want to be in. I totally avoid music if I'm feeling sad. I don't...

    Something that changed you

Watching my mother take her last breath changed me profoundly. In the five years following her death, I finished up my bachelor's degree, got a divorce, bought a house, and changed jobs, among many other things. Amazing how watching someone you love die can be an affirmation of life.

Iron Foodee Shrimp Challenge - Vote Here!

Fuz, you're such a sweetheart. I wouldn't know what to do about a tie (have another vote with just the two?) Anyway, because of Fuz's concession speech, I declare lypeaches the winner of this month. J - it's time for you to decide on May's challenge. Thanks everyone. All of the dishes...

    Ugly Feet = No Sandals?

Funny - I was married to a dairy farmer for 23 years and there was always a can of bag balm in the milk house. :) So every time I see people recommending it for human use, I always sorta chuckle. Thing is, it DOES work! For softening feet after exfoliation, I've found that Neutrogena Foot...
