The most corrupt and dumbest US presidents

So we have the WaPo on one hand claiming this big revelation of a release of classified information from another country as supposedly told by a confidential informant. On the other hand at least three attendees to the meeting have gone on the record to state no such disclosure occurred. This...

The most corrupt and dumbest US presidents

You do realize the President has Original Classification Authority don't you? If he decides the release of some information to convince another world leader to do something like join us in some action against N. Korea or terrorists or other similar actions, that is wholly within his job...

    Dimensions website drift - RFD

I started subscribing to the NAAFA FA-SIG newsletter when it was called just that. And my subscription ended with Dimensions Magazine when the last issue was published. (A lucky coincidence for me, unlike many others that still had issues remaining.) My photos were used for one issue's cover and...

    Dimensions website drift - RFD

Whereas the mods at dimensionsmagazine.com seem so focused on preventing thread drift in the belief all of a thread should match the original title or OPs message, and dimensionsmagazine.com in its current incarnation barely reflects the original dimensionsmagazine.com. The entire website has...

The most corrupt and dumbest US presidents

So it's not allowed to post charts, graphs or other images that illustrate the point of a discussion. And it's not allowed to link to those images in the "image thread" either. This is the only place on the Internet that I've encountered in two decades with such limits. Except for not allowing...

The most corrupt and dumbest US presidents

So why don't you share those PMs with the rest of us because I find that a disgusting approach to Moderation and I'd like to see the thinking behind that decision. It clearly shows a belief that the only way to supposedly "balance" a discussion is to engage in censorship, one of the current...

So-calledly male F.A. talks**ting about women who have gotten fatter

With a poster from Canada I suspected it was a question composed originally in French, then translated to English in that amusing structure and phrasing from Google Translate I call Googleish. Regardless of the reason, it appears the poster is not a native English language speaker. And...

So-calledly male F.A. talks**ting about women who have gotten fatter

I think it depends on whether they talk about fat acceptance or size acceptance. The size acceptance group seems to see "fat" as a negative. The fat acceptance folks simply see it as an adjective, or even a positive feature.

    DXL coming to Canada

If you are tall and need 36" inseam or sleeves, their offerings stop at 34" (at least in the stores in the Dallas, TX area). They didn't stock what was available on their website.

    Life in the USA

Who said it was accidental? I thought it was clearly obvious that better education should always be a goal, whether at the personal level or the national level. Which is why the next ten years will be very interesting for Sweden following the significant influx of migrants in the last couple of...

    Life in the USA

Sweden appears to have an economy focused on exports. As a result they are still an economy with a significant manufacturing base. And they manufacture relatively high dollar products. That's in contrast to our transition to a more service oriented economy as we exported our manufacturing...

    worry as an FA

But you did post After reading the numerous emotional stresses he has (and had) in his life, I suspected if those were addressed he may lose more than the 200 pounds you cited as a possible threshold. I was just trying to get you to consider the possibility of him losing weight beyond 200...

UN inaction and the refugee crisis

Peace can only be made or kept by the primary parties involved. A third party is just a lookie-loo to the goings-on, which pretty well describes the UN. Unless the UN function can be adapted from a peacekeeper to a peacemaker I'm not sure they should continue their existence. But to be a...

Cost of cpap machine? And big medical expense rant.

Like with a new machine, the used one would have to be set by the sleep specialist to the pressure indicated during the sleep study when the diagnosis of sleep apnea was made. And once you've replaced the hose, face mask, and filter (and reservoir for a humidifying unit) it will be just about as...

    worry as an FA

Fat Molly, reading through your posts, the one thing that jumps out at me is the level of conflict avoidance, a self defense mechanism, your SO is engaging in. It's something a lot of us can be prone to, even at moderate BMIs of 35 or so. Maybe you could start a discussion with him about...

    worry as an FA

FWIW, I think Fat Molly was using "size" as a synonym for fat. Unfortunately some people still see "fat" as an accusation and not an adjective. She may be used to talking with more of those people in RL than those of us here that literally and linguistically embrace fat. Your comments harken...

Cost of cpap machine? And big medical expense rant.

Check Craigslist in your area. Frequently you can get lightly used or unused machines for less than $300, sometimes with unused headgear. UPDATE: My citations were based on the Dallas area. I was surprised at the higher prices in Houston. There were a couple of older units for ~$260 but most...

UN inaction and the refugee crisis

I'm not saying they should be an invasionary force, but the nations where they've been invited into they've still been ineffective. The Sudan is a perfect example. http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=56069&&Cr=south%20sudan&&Cr1=#.WJCl_1MrLcs Their behavior reminds me of a current TV ad...

    worry as an FA

I feel your pain Fat Molly. Obviously you're a FFA who's found her fantasy but you recognize the realities on the horizon. It's really just a variation on the classic FA conflict of desires vs guilt. You've got all the elements of what's important and the personal skills to know what isn't...

    worry as an FA

Hi RealMe, I'm not sure about Fat Molly's background but I can tell you there's several of us here with decades of experience in Fat Acceptance. Her concerns are very valid since our more supersize folks leave us early, sometimes before age 50, and the gourmands occasionally leave us before age...
