geralyn holmes,
Ok, I don't even know what I'm hoping for with this post, but I have been obsessed for days. I work for a call center, and one of the callers described how she grew her own food or bought her food from Amish villages. I was particularly fascinated by the 100 lbs of sausage meat she was able to get for $30 when they slaughtered the pigs, and the bushels of fruit she was able to buy and the real honey.:eat2:

Anyway, I live in Memphis, TN, which despite being in the heart of the South, is failry metropolitan. I have never been to an Amish Village. There is a Farmer's market that meets downtown and I am wondering if they tend to be cheaper than grocery stores? Or should I plan a road trip to parts of TN unknown? Do I sound too crazy or does someone out there get me? I want tasty cheap meat in particular, but will take tasty cheap veggies and fruit also.
