Interesting premise. I knew of the issue of gut microflora and microfauna contributing to changes in weight. I hadn't heard about the earliest period of the introduction of antibiotics to the diets of our animal herds. If it is shown to increase (or even just change) the efficiency of the digestion process, that's a major deal. It attacks the fundamental argument of the calories in vs calories out energy model.
