Just getting back to normal after the earthquake that hit Ottawa and elsewhere this afternoon. I'm hearing everything from 5.0 to 5.7, and it looks like it was centered 38 miles north of the Capital...
We get them occasionally here of course, but this one was pretty good! I was working in my home office and was about to do some phone calls when it started. I figured it was a tremor when the first rumbling didn't stop, but when it really started to move I made the decision to get out of my house. By the time I got up to leave it had stopped.
Waiting for the aftershocks now...
(I still don't know how people in L.A. get used to these things, we usually get a good shake about once every few years or so but rarely are they this big...)
Edit- Now I'm hearing it was 5.0...
