I DID!!! Friday night after work, I opened my mail... then wrote my phone messages on the back of an envelope. I had the envelope by the corner and was walking thru my house swinging it.. and it swing up and poked my left eye!! Well, needless to say it hurt like hell... and watered like mad. It stung, and I figured eventually it would stop watering and go away. It didn't. It continued to hurt and at one point it felt like someone was stabbing me in the eye with a needle!! It kept watering and I was trying not to rub it, but I kept pulling my eyelid away from it cause it felt better doing that.
Saturday morning my eye was swollen shut and still hurting, so I called my eye doctor and went in. I LACERATED MY CORNEA!!! She said "you took a pretty good chunk out of your cornea" to be specific!! LOL So... she put some antibiotic drops in, then a corneal patch... which is basically a protective contact lens. I have to put the antibiotic drops in every two hours. It felt loads better after that. It turns out, everytime I rubbed it the night before, I was making the tear bigger... essentially ripping it open even more. LOL
I went back today and it's healing really well. She took the patch off.... I have to keep up with the drops and now have to put some antibiotic ointment in overnight. (ick) I go back in a week to get it checked again.
I cannot even begin to believe all this is because of that damned envelope!! A papercut in my eye??? What the hell??? LOLOL
Anyone ever do anything this stupid????
