Would anyone be interested in doing a forum-based book club? I think it would be fun to read something together. Open to other book suggestions, but off the top of my head, a few ideas...

Fiction:

Milk Fed by Melissa Broder.
A steamy relationship story with fat admiration themes and some stuffing scenes. I've read this one before but would love to read it again. It's kinky, but non-feedists love this book too- I find it difficult to believe that all the mainstream critics who raved about this book are secretly into feedism. Then again, maybe some of those critics learned something about themselves as they read this book. Deals with some heavy themes, including eating disorders, antisemitism, homophobia and the colonization of Palestine. F/F with some F/M.
Summary (partially copied from Goodreads):
Rachel is a stressed-out underling at an LA talent agency who obsesses over counting calories and her relationship with her mother. Her orderly life is disrupted by her attraction to Miriam, a zaftig young Orthodox Jewish woman who works at her favorite frozen yogurt shop and is intent upon feeding Rachel. Rachel is suddenly and powerfully entranced by Miriam—by her sundaes and her body, her faith and her family—and as the two grow closer, Rachel embarks on a journey marked by mirrors, mysticism, mothers, milk, and honey.

Non-fiction:

Big Big Love by Hanne Blank.
Subtitled "A Sex and Relationships Guide for People of Size (and Those Who Love Them)."
Goodreads summary:
At last, a book that covers the how-tos and why-tos of sexuality from the point of view of big folks and those who love them! "Big Big Love" is a no-holds-barred, yet lighthearted, overview of sex for everybody from the chubby to the supersized. Detailed and realistic information on improving self-image, partner-finding, sexual positions and activities, resources for toys and clothing and much more. "Big Big Love" is essential reading for women, men and transfolk... gays, bisexuals and heterosexuals... and anyone else who's ever been told that sex is only for the slender!

"You Just Need to Lose Weight" (and 19 Other Myths About Fat People) by Aubrey Gordon
Excerpt from Goodreads summary:
In “You Just Need to Lose Weight,” Aubrey Gordon equips readers with the facts and figures to reframe myths about fatness in order to dismantle the anti-fat bias ingrained in how we think about and treat fat people. Bringing her dozen years of community organizing and training to bear, Gordon shares the rhetorical approaches she and other organizers employ to not only counter these pernicious myths, but to dismantle the anti-fat bias that so often underpin them.
As conversations about fat acceptance and fat justice continue to grow, “You Just Need to Lose Weight” will be essential to ensure that those conversations are informed, effective, and grounded in both research and history.

Ask Yourself: The Consent Culture Workbook by Kitty Stryker
Not explicitly connected to feedism or fat, but nevertheless a good and interesting read for any kink group (or any group at all, really).
Excerpt from Goodreads summary:
What does “consent culture” mean to you? Navigating the complex, never-ending work of culture change can be overwhelming at times. Whether you’re exploring what consent means in your personal life or as part of your work in the world, Ask Yourself guides you through the introspection necessary for lasting change. In Building Consent Culture , consent culture activist Kitty Stryker compiled a diverse collection of essays from people working on questions of how to build a culture of consent in our everyday world. This timely and practical companion workbook invites you to take a journey through your own thoughts on consent and consider how you can help build consent culture. Ask Yourself guides you through a structured exploration with prompts for 28 days of journaling, conversations, and other work. The prompts are split into four sections on distinct themes that allow you to explore consent at your own pace and in your own way. This thoughtful book also features short contributions from consent culture activists to help inspire reflection.

Anyways. If anyone is interested, give the word! I can make a poll with these options, but don't be shy about suggesting your own picks as well. Not to get ahead of myself here, but hell, if we like having a book club, we can even continue this into the future with more than one title.
