My mother was one to never ever buy a name-brand "Sugar" cereal like Frosted Flakes or Fruit Loops. There was always something non-kids that seemed healthy in some way. Well, except for the Granola. In the 70s, yeah that seemed healthy, but you look at all the sugar carbs and the cottonseed oil, I'm sure it was really fattening.
Anyway, Old habits never die. I still eat breakfast cereal, and I tend to buy the non-kids cereal:
Wheaties, Shredded Wheat, Crispix, Corn Chex, Honey Bunches of Oats (w/Almonds), Cracklin' Oat Bran, and Grape Nuts. (not all at once, right now I'm on a Wheaties kick)
Hot Cereal: Cream of Wheat. (I like it with butter, brown sugar, and a little milk.)
