After making a post on the Name a song from the last letter post, I got to thinking about how much I absolutely LOVE Slade. One of the greatest bands I never got to see live. Only other band that I think ranks up there with them is The Faces. At least Faces had one hit in the U.S. during their heyday with "Stay With Me." Personally, I consider "Stay With Me" the greatest song of all time. But Slade never had a major hit here in the 70's. It wasn't until the "Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply" album in the early 80's that they had not one, but TWO hits here in the States, with "My Oh My" and "Run Runaway."
I did a search for them on youtube & found a bevy of videos, which I think some of youse might enjoy, so I thought I'd post them here. I hope youse will all watch each & every one, but I doubt that'll happen. So, at least watch & hear the ORIGINAL versions of "Cum On Feel the Noize" & "Mama Weer All Crazee Now." Quiet Riot would never been as big as they were if it weren't for the GREAT Noddy Holder & Dave Hill. Sure, Slade had their highs & lows, but what band didn't? So I present to you, the very best of, & the very worst of SLADE. You can't say fairer than that. ENJOY!!!
