Daft things parents say to kids

I do not know if anyone has started a thread about the daft and illogical things parents say to their children. If not I'd like to hear yours. I'll start with this one.

My parents used to tell me and my sister to eat your greens - they will put hairs on your chest......why on earth would my sister want a hairy chest.
