I'm on a student teaching rotation for the next four months. I'm in a nyc high school and have been paired up with a mentor. He's great: chatty, quite sarcastic but much tougher than I am!

Today we were discussing the students and he brought up my size. Not in a rude way, just a matter of fact way. He's completely unjudgmental. He told me he's writing up a lesson plan for tomorrow (last week was state testing and I didn't have any real classroom time yet) about body image and size in order to introduce me to the class. He told me there are some real "knuckleheads" and I think he's trying to make things easier on me. On one hand, I think it's quite cool and considerate to go out of your way. On the other, I don't want to bring up the issue too much because I assume all the students can see clearly!
