After asking christov about some card games from my youth it got me thinking do you have any games that are unique to your family/neighbourhood or a game that you still love to play even now as an adult?

For me it was spoons not sure who came up with the game but it can be brutal when you have 2 or more decks of cards and a table surrounded with people all diving for spoons in the middle of the table, its kind of like musical chairs with cards and spoons.

So you give each player 7 cards and the catch here is your not allowed to have more than 7 cards in your hand at any one time

you place spoons in the middle of the table one less than the amount of people playing

now you need to collect either say 4 of a kind such as kings, or nines or cards in a row but in the same suit eg 2,3,4,5 of clubs.

the dealer picks up a card from the top of the pile looks at it and either adds it to his/her hand or passes it to the next player if the dealer adds it to his/her cards he/she then discards a card from their hand, and this goes on down to the next person and so on the faster you can get this game going the better cause it can be hard to watch the spoons and your cards at the same time

the first person to get their 4 of a kind or in a row grabs a spoon as stealthily as possibly so as to not allert the other players as soon as that person has grabbed a spoon its a free for all because whoever doesnt get the spoon is out of the game until its just sheer dumb luck of the draw when down to two players

I remember hours of fun and bruised knuckles and people trying to snatch your spoon away ect as a kid

so what is your childhood cardgame memory?
