Is shame really the right approach with this?
I caught a few minutes of the discussion on the Today show yesterday and was appalled by some of the things in the campaign. It really seems like a huge step backward in terms of helping kids find healthy ways of eating and encouraging them to move.
Publicly shaming them does not seem like a the right approach. Isn't there a middle ground? Where we can address some of the health issues they may face, and encourage ALL kids to eat healthily, rather than either ignoring it or berating them?
Here's an article about the campaign. It made me sick.
