Hi, I'm plushkitty, I'm new around here. *waves*
I am a BBW (5'8", 240 lbs. last I weighed, most of it below the waist) and a college student. My cash flow recently has been even tighter than usual, and next month I'll have to start buying Christmas presents. Oy. I went up a size in darn near everything over the summer- not a gainer, just couldn't move around much for health reasons. Plus I recently discovered Fat Acceptance, and decided to chuck the diet mentality out the window for once and for all. Man, coffee is so much better with real sugar and whole milk than it was with Splenda and skim.
I digress. Back to clothes. I forgot just how expensive new clothes are when you have to buy more than one or two pieces at a time! I stuck to basics at first, so I do have things to wear, but not that many. And they're, well, basic. It's getting old wearing fitted tees and jeans or denim capris every. single. day. Other than tees and jeans, I have one nice dress that can dress up or down (intended for a wedding that has now been canceled), one pair of black slacks, and two pretty blouses to go with said slacks.
Any suggestions about where I can find cute, affordable, comfortable plus-size clothes? I'm a snug 14/16 on top and a roomy 18/20 on bottom in Lane Bryant sizes. I like my fitted tees kind of tight, so that might be a 16/18 for tops that I want to fit looser. My figure is what Igigi refers to as a "figure 8". Biggest on the bottom, relatively small in the waist, top is in between the two extremes. Finding comfortable pants that fit a big butt & thighs with a smaller waist is nearly impossible IME.
