In Rememberance
Nothing is ever simple with me - ever.
The surgeon is wonderful - he made me feel safe and I have total faith in him. He will be doing the surgery but we have to put it off for a few weeks because in my tests from the hospital they found some fluids in my chest and they diagnosed it as very early, early stages of heart failure (his words).
I was stunned into silence and Wayne said "Why weren't we told this in the hospital??"
Surgeon "I don't know."
I do recall one of the nurses in the hospital telling me "Your chest x-rays showed a little bit of fluid in your chest - but it's nothing to worry about"
He asked if I had sleep apnea - and I don't know but I suspect I do - I don't sleep well. The surgeon then said he wants me to get a sleep study and be on a CPAP for a minimum of 2 weeks and then make an appt for the gall bladder surgery.
So I asked "Is this heart thing reversible?"
Surgeon - "Believe it or not it is". Then he smiled the warmest most reassuring smile.
So part of me thinks if this was serious he would have checked me into the hospital - and the little girl in me wants to curl up in a ball and sob. Right now I am thinking positive. Well for now anyway
