I have been involved in a discussion with someone who provides proof that there is no evolution. She points out that biologists who do not follow the pro-evolution party line are ridiculed.
I started with her premise and worked it through to a possible conclusion. There are those who insist that school children should be taught both evolution and intelligent design. Well, intelligent design can have many possibilities. The following is one of the possible forms of intelligent design. This one is better then most. It still leave room for God creating the earth and it has the advantage of having people alive today who have both seen our creator's transportation vehicles and who have physically interacted with our intelligent creators.
So it is possible, perhaps even probable, that this planet is an experiment being done by the aliens who have been seen flying unidentified flying objects and who capture and take humans aboard the spaceships, study them, and then release them back onto the planet's surface.
Hundreds of millions of years ago these creatures learned or were taught by a superior intelligence, how to mess around with DNA and RNA. They then created and released very simple organisms on this planet. After a while they decided to continue the experiment by wiping out most of the animals in the first release and putting a whole bunch of new life forms on the planet (the Cambrian explosion). In time they wiped out most of those life forms and put another set of life forms on this planet.
After the most recent wipeout they put lots of mammals on the planet including humans. Certainly the study of human interactions has most likely been one of the more interesting observations that they have been making. Assuming that they are not intervening in day-to-day human activities they are probably very interested in finding out whether humans, using nuclear energy, will pretty much wipe out most life forms on the planet. The aliens can then decide whether to restock the planet with new life forms or to simply end of the experiment.
Note: the above theory does not require evolution and takes into account flying saucers, the appearance of aliens, and the fact that some people have been captured in the wild, studied, and then released back into their natural habitat. It is reasonably certain, although there is no proof, that other forms of earth life have also been captured, studied, and released back into their natural habitat although there is no proof of such captures and releases yet.
