So I was thinking about this today.
I took the day off work - I was very tired, and I slept until 1:30PM. That was nice. Got up, did some errands with Erin (Erin errands - Woohoo!!), came home, and she got her computer time in, while I cleaned and rearranged a portion of our apartment. After that, I had to wash a few dishes, and I was sitting there thinking.
I had to wash a glass cup, and for those familiar, if you shove your hand all the way into the cup, it has a good chance of bursting. Then I thought to myself, I'm a big guy, with some large hands, and fat fingers and everything... What do those people with even larger (very fat) hands and fingers do? Can they stick it in far enough to wash the entire cup?
Then I remembered the dish-washer. Something I do not use often, because I like my dishes hand-washed.
Great inventions. What are inventions you love?
Even though I do not use it, the dish-washer is an extraordinary invention. It allows us to wash dishes without having to do all of the work (loading it and emptying it is a pain, though). And for the most part, cleans very well.
Also, the washer and dryer are spectacular inventions. Lets face it, who wants to sit next to a tub or pot, with soapy and hot (I assume back in the day, some water wasn't nearly as hot) water, washing clothes by hand? I would never want to do that, and I love the washer and dryer. I can especially appreciate the new ones my apartment complex put in, so that I do not have to drive to a laundromat. Yay!
Computer boards. We could not have Dimensions, at least not as it is today, without the invention of the computer board(s) and technical equipment. I use mine for so many different things, I could not live without it (I can, but I do not want to). Yay for the computer!
Bugle. The good ol' bugle. A specially formed piece of tubing, in various tapers and conically mastered, it produces a musical tone. Without that, the trumpet would have never been formed. Without that, I could never appreciate music as I do today. I would not have something to fall back on to relieve stress when I am in the mood to toot some tunes. Thank you for the bugle!
How about you?
What do you think?
Anything and everything.
