I've often wondered about the value of designer stuff. Some items with designer labels can cost ten or even a hundred times as much as cheap knock offs, which often seem pretty much the same. Or is there inherent quality and value in designer items that justifies the price?
For example, you can buy blue jeans very inexpensively in department stores, but you can also pay 20 times as much from the likes of Diesel or Seven for all Mankind. In this particular case, I actually found that the Diesels I scored at CostCo a while ago do hold their shape MUCH better than any of the store brands.
