I posted this on the main board, but judging by the silence maybe it's not the right location. I'm still new to all these boards, but it seems that the people on this board are the most open about discussing all aspects of being heavy - which is so great to find.

I recently met a lady at a bbw dance. I won't say where. She was a very heavy and tall lady (I found out later she was 430 lbs, and about 6'1).

But she told me something that I found hard to believe. I want to ask people on this forum if this is realistic or not.

We were dancing a bit wildly and sort of going round in fast circles. Or at least that was what I wanted to do. But she stopped me. We went to sit down. Then she told me that she was a bit paranoid about that kind of uncontrolled movement because at least twice that she knows of, and maybe other times, she has broken bones in people's feet by stepping on them with her full weight. I didn't ask more about this or how it happened, as she seemed embarrassed, so I changed the subject. But I'm very curious to know if this is really true.

Now I know that in physical contact sports it happens quite a lot that a heavy woman will hurt a lighter one (the sideline of a women's football game looks like ER if there are a few big girls playing) but there everyone knows it's part of the game. And in my time at bbw events, I've had my toes bruised a few times (I can't say the experience was totally negative, but it hurt at the time!).

But I've never heard of heavy women actually injuring people with their weight in a non-sports context. I guess it makes sense. 430 lbs is a lot of weight to step on anything. But maybe I'm naive or something, I just never imagined it. When I've been around heavy women, I've noticed many were paranoid about hurting people, even afraid of sitting on someone's knee, but I always assumed this was just paranoia, and not a real risk.

I don't want to embarrass anyone, so I'm not asking you to tell me about events that you probably feel bad about unless you're really confident about your size. But just tell me if you think this woman was having fun at my expense, or could she really have broken people's feet just by stepping on them?

Does it happen often that very heavy women hurt smaller people? And if it happens, is it usually because the small person has done something stupid, like pulled the woman onto him as part of a dare or something?
