I was just at the grocery store today, and saw some magazine with Jennifer Hudson on the cover, trumpeting about how she "GOT SKINNY FAST!" and my jaw almost hit the floor. Could it be, that Jennifer Hudson, the big beautiful hope for mainstream fat acceptance, had joined the dark side, and dieted her curves away? Upon another glace at the cover, I found this to be true. I am just....I don't know, but it pisses me off when someone who has a chance to show the world, on a huge stage, that being big CAN and DOES equal being beautiful, turns her back on the chance, just in order to fit in and be skinny.

I respect that people want to lose weight for "health reasons" and all that, but science and medicine have shown that being FAT and being healthy are NOT mutually exclusive concepts.

What bothers me about Jen Hudson is the fact that during her post IDOL winning days, and leading up to her Oscar nomination in DREAMGIRLS, Hudson was everywhere on TV spouting off about how she proves that big girls CAN succeed in Hollywood, and in entertainment, and about how you should "just be yourself, and be as big as you want, no matter what anyone else says."

She was also one of the people blasting Hollywood's "stick thin" obsession......and now look at her, on the cover of magazines, beaming about how much weight she's lost, and how skinny she is.

Fucking hypocrite.
