leggings, thumbs up or down?

This is silly, I admit it. How do we all feel about leggings? Are they a pox upon humanity, cheesier than velveeta or do they really work. Since I'm a fan of leggings, I have to give a big ren. faire huzzah to the leggings. Since I'm 5'8, I find many dress that are knee length on shorter on me. Leggings help me look respectable, don't have to worry about flashing my sexy granny underwear and help prevent chub rub.

So tell us your true feelings about leggings--good, bad or indifferent. Don't hold any punches. Think of your post of group therapy. Also provide photos to support your argument.
