Looking for an Old Story

I'm looking for a story, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was called, or even the whole plot.

I do remember a once-thin girl was invited to some party, where she started gorging herself on the food. Somehow, I think she ended up on the floor holding her stomach while everyone around her laughed.

I remember it was told from a man's first point of view.

Can anyone help me?
