My Uncle passed away from Lukemia today. He had it for months, was doing well for a while, but then his body rejected the bone marrow transplant. He was in his early 60's.
The ultimate irony? He was always the health nut type. He was skinny, jogged/ran constantly, ate all kinds of health food, and at the end was completely forgoing carbs or anything remotely "bad" for you.
IMO, it just goes to show that you may as well enjoy life while you've still got it.
