Dear Fellow Dimmers:
Next week is National Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week.
MS is an degenerative autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, commonly diagnosed among young people between the ages of 20 and 50. Approximately half a million Americans suffer from MS, including some of our friends on Dims.
There is no cure, but more and more promising research is happening every day.
Many of have had our lives touched by this disease, either from having the disease or having friends or relatives with it. As such, in honor of Awareness Week, I've adopted an amazing lady who is doing a fundraising walk for MS in Southern California and am organizing everyone I know to go to her fundraising site (linked below) and asking them to make a contribution.
Even $1 or $2 will make a difference, so please don't think if you have very little to give, that it won't help. The contributions made online go directly to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, so no worries about who's getting your money. The NMSS is a highly rated charity with nearly all funds raised going to research efforts or to direct patient aid.
Thank you everyone.
