A few people hear have heard me talking about my dad.
Not a smoker, he found out he had final stages of lung cancer about 8 months ago, and it understandably came as a big surprise to all of us.
He remembers a time when doctors would tell people to smoke that it was good for them and would be good as a stress relief.
Anyway, my father died yesterday while I held his hands in mine. He seemed to even have a bit of a smile on his face.
What an brave optimist in the way he battled this.
When people said that "someone went to a better place", my dad said he knew they were telling the truth, he had proof.. because none of them came back. To a certain extent, he has a point, and obviously an excellent sense of humour.
He was a terrific very human person and I am very sad he is dead now.
