Among Ms. Stacey’s wicked smart musings: “I say why should there be marriage at all;” “What should limit it to two and why should it be monogamous? Nothing in view gives the state that particular interest;” and “So I would agree that we should get rid of the sexual family, there’s no reason in the contemporary world to base our relationships necessarily on sex.”

I agree with the professor completely. Where I suspect I may differ with her is that I believe that it's important for children to have positive male and female role models involved in their upbringing. In a case with a same-sex 2 parent household for example some kind of regular contact with a caregiver of a differing sex than the parents is important in my view. It's not something I would legislate however.
