He's going in for triple bypass surgery this morning. He had a pretty severe atrial fibrulation (sp?) Wednesday morning while working in the barn. Luckily my brother has been helping with the farm and was there.
Dad looked pretty good yesterday; his color was good and he was readily expressing his opinions to the nurses . But they found some pretty severe blockages and scheduled the surgery.
I'm such a Daddy's girl, and I'm scared. Dad was like Superman when I was growing up; nothing could take him out. I know this has gotten to be fairly routine in some hospitals, and he's in good hands. We met the surgeon Wednesday, and he's got a great soothing manner. And lots of people have been telling me of their family's excellent results with the same doctor / same surgery. But in my own prayers, I always end up telling God, "You can't have my Daddy yet." I think the seriousness is just hitting me now.
Thanks in advance for any prayers/ good thoughts you can send our way.
