All,
Just wanted to pass on some information. I just completed radiation treatment and weigh over 400lbs. My oncologist referred me to a radiation oncologist but he was unable to perform the radiation treatments because I weighed more than the 300lb weight limit on the CT table. After several phone calls, I was referred to the University of Maryland Medical Center (a teaching hospital) for my radiation treatment. Since they are a teaching hospital they also perform "old school" radiation treatment using Xrays and physicists to set up the radiation treatment. If anyone is in need of radiation treatment and have been turned away because of their weight please have your oncologist call the local University or teaching hospital.
