I think I posted this before somewhere. One of my favorite writers Robin Hobb wrote her (Shaman's Crossing/Forrest Mage/Soldier Son) series where in the 2nd Book Nevvare the Hero is a BHM.
The Hero is lovingly detailed. And I think most FFA's would enjoy the series.
