And the Republican nomination merry-go-round continues. Just when Romney gloated how incredibly invincible he was, he gets trounced by Santorum in Missouri (55:25), Minnesota (45:17), and dismissed even in Colorado (40:35).
What do I make of that? Well, part seems obvious. While Romney did manage to sling enough mud and dirt at Gingrich in Florida to possibly have succeeded in wounding the Speaker terminally, he also succeeded in making himself look less likable than ever.
Santorum, in the meantime, wasn't attacked by anyone, he got good press for tending to his sick child, and he even managed to put in some fiery and quite impressive debate performances in Florida.
How that all translates into eventual delegates remains to be seen. Overall, I pity the party that has to go through this sort of embarrassing nonsense while the other can sit pretty with an uncontested President eligible for re-election.
Only in America.
