I figured this would be a cool idea...to write a story, and have it be continued by someone else...and then someone after that, and so on. Feel free to add to the story, or comment as you please!
It was eerily dark, clouds gathered across the normally star and moonlit sky. Rain poured down like blood pours from a cut to an artery, blowing soaking gusts. Torrents which pounded down across the blackened city streets. Every so often a lamp fueled by oil rather than candle still blazed in the damp night. Mist gathered along the ground, only being kept from rising by the continual rain which threatened to swamp the city. The buildings towered around, some lit, but most dark at this hour of night, when only street whores and malicious characters of ill-repute roamed the byways of the city.
As it so happened, one such “malicious character” roamed the streets at this very moment. Enjoying the shadows, he clings to them, seeming to wrap them around him until he practically disappears from sight. This shadowy figure makes his way to a tall building, nearly four stories, whose windows are dark but for the three on the topmost floor.
