Does anyone remember a story where a lady answered an ad in the paper and got a job on a distant island, watching after an immobile woman? Then, slowly over time, the immobile woman slims down while the main character fattens up and ends up taking the immobile woman's place?
It was like a spell that had to be transferred or something. There's a twist that something in the tea they shared helped to facilitate the weight transfer somehow.
It was wonderful and I was considering doing my own version of it, but was hoping to reference the original and hit up the author, if possible.
