Okay I am seriously in love with Old Gringo western boots.. but they run pretty narrow in the calf (US size 9 boot calf circumference ranges from 13" to 15"). I've been doing some research on stretching leather boot calves and the best I can find is that they can be stretched from a half to one cm. That sounds.. a little conservative. I'm wondering, realistically, if a person had a high quality leather / leather lined boot is the circumference could be stretched more.. like.. 2 inches...? anyone ever try this? And have luck?
I know there are options (getting cobbler to put an insert etc) but I'd like to avoid that if I can.
