I had absolutely no idea tomato soup and grilled-cheese sandwiches were such a popular American standard lunch combo until Tina mentioned it a couple years back in a thread and got a bunch of folks responding in enthusiastic agreement.
Well, I hate tomato soup and I basically hate anything made by Campbell's, so that combo wasn't gonna find it's way on my kitchen table.
But...
...on a whim last week I purchase one of those square boxes of Trader Joe's soup. This one was called Tomato & Roasted Bell Pepper. Well let me tell you what, this soup was deeeeeeeeelicious!!!!! I can't tell you how deeeeelicious it was! My friend came by to visit that same day and I served him a cup of this Heaven-sent hot liquid and to put it in the vernacular, he was sprung. He went out the next day and bought two cartons of the stuff.
Anyways, guess what I'm having for lunch right this very minute? LMAO!! Yes!!! YES!!!!! Trader Joe's Tomato & Roasted Bell Pepper and a grilled-cheese sandwich (Tillamook extra sharp cheddar and marbled rye bread). And right about now my stomach is doing the Snoopy Happy Dance!
