Not sure if this was reported in the US, but it appears that the last US bank that was willing to handle financial transactions between Cuba and the US has discontinued that service. That's quite a blow to the Cuban community in the United States, and yet another bizarre outburst of the idiocy that is the Cuban embargo. So for now, the Swiss are handling things between Cuba and the US, as there are no diplomatic relations.
Also seems that at the last annual UN vote on this silly, archaic embargo, 188 nations condemned the embargo, with just two endorsing it (the US itself, and Israel).
As far as I am concerned, it is way, way beyond time to terminate that ancient cold war relic of an embargo.
