You just knew this had to be coming...it is no secret that I have a "thing" about taters...just finished a couple of pounds right now, mashed with mayo and margarine, lightly seasoned and sprinkled with delicious peas...I could write odes and sonnets on the humble yet incredible tater...prepared thousands of ways, fried, boiled, scalloped, baked, with vegetables or other complimentary foods; they are healthy, mineral packed and just yummy as heck...be it red tater, golden tater, regular tater, sweet tater or what...they are the staple food of satisfaction and comfort, although pasta is right up there, neck and neck. The texture, the satisfaction, the fact that you can eat so much of them....I will, before the demise of this thread, write an "Ode to the Tater!" There will be a few of my special recipes coming...beware! LOL
