I received this email today. Obviously, I am not going to respond, however I am somewhat offended that this person assumes I am ignorant about the dangers of being overweight. I have a master's degree and am a bright woman, but apparently, she thinks her PhD outweighs any common sense I may have. Her address was a harvard.edu address.
Hi.
I normally don't reply to ads with my real address, but your post
alarmed me. I had not heard of feederism, but when I googled it, I
came across the NAAFA's position paper against it:
http://www.naafa.org/documents/policies/feederism.html
Eating and weight is an area that is dangerous to play with. I have
a number of friends who have struggled with eating disorders, and I
have struggled with my own food and weight issues too, and I have
friends who study eating disorders.
You're a total stranger, but I really want to request: please don't
put yourself in any danger of developing an eating disorder, and
please connect with a fat acceptance group if you want support as you
are.
