Once a week Louise and I are part of a team that participates in a Pourhouse Trivia competition. Each game has 20 categories and the teams get points for the correct answer in each category. Each week the winner of the previous week's competition gets to choose the subject of the opening category. As part of fat activism, two weeks ago, when our team won that weeks contest, I talked them into choosing NAAFA as the opening category for the next week. Since between 50 and 60 people play each week my goal was to raise awareness about NAAFA and size acceptance.
Since NAAFA was going to be the category I knew that at least some of the 50 to 60 people present would be using the computer to learn more about NAAFA. Louise and I were very concerned that the contest director might choose a question about NAAFA that we could not answer.
Last week after he reminded people what the opening category was, the opening question asked by the contest director was, "What do the initials HAES stand for?" Louise and I nailed it.
