This is a link I googled pertaining to what I'm about to discuss...
About a week or two ago, I heard a little bit about this on the news but it was only like 2 seconds long and never repeated itself on the news again since then. I didnt have time to post it here then.
What it's about is UK/Ireland may make it mandatory for parents of obese children to change their family lifestyle or risk their kids going into foster care! HUH?!! They could be charged with NEGLECT! (WTF! Much?). I have no idea if this law ever went into effect or not since then, (I live in the USA) but I would like some opinions on here regarding this. It just blows my mind! The majority of ppl I know with obese kids (or who grew up obese) did not have anything wrong going on at home or fed the wrong diets. I would personally view this new thing (if it were to happen here in the US) as a personal threat to our homelife and family-I would feel lumped in the same catagories as the kind of parents who beat or leave their children alone for long periods of times, or same catagory as a pedo!(If my children were obese and they got took from me) This does not sound very fair.
How do you feel about it?
What went through your mind when or if you heard of this?
Those of you who live there, what's currently going on with that as of now?
Do you view this as a threat of personal rights?
