I still have my mom's Joy of Cooking cookbook that she used when I was a child, and use it frequently...the problem is, the cover is gone and some pages are missing, and it's falling apart.
I saw this review of the new 75th anniversary edition coming out this week. Judging by the reviewers comments, it's worth having, but should be taken with a "grain of salt"..or would that be a tsp of salt?
I may also pick up a copy of Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything, as suggested in the review. Does anyone else have favorite cookbooks?
