*I didn't know where to put this thread so I plopped it down here in the Lounge. If someone thinks it's better off elsewhere please feel free to plop it wherever it fits best.*
Usually I hate this question as I've always felt that I don't truly have a type. My crushes range from short and chubby to tall and musclebound, dark to light, clean-cut to rough around the edges, etc. Plus, I would never dismiss a nice guy just because he didn't fit into one particular "type" slot.
That being said...I apparently do have a type. By type I mean a preferred set of characteristics that I find more attractive over others. I never thought this about myself until it was pointed out to me by my brother and his girlfriend. We were watching music videos the other night when my brother's girlfriend showed us this country music video. I don't usually like country so I had no idea who the guy was but I was soon drooling over him. After a few omg-he's-totally-hot statements my brother rolled his eyes and pointed out that he looks just like this other guy I also happen to swoon over. My brother's gf said, "Yeah, he's totally your type." I have a type? I had to think about if for a moment but yep, I guess I really do have a type.
So, what's my type?
Physical: Usually white men with dark hair. Scruffy facial hair a plus. Tall, 5' 9" to 6 foot or taller. Big, not fat but husky with muscle. Broad shoulders, nicely muscled arms, long, thicker legs. Light eyes are a bonus but not a must. Dress style a little rough around the edges with boots (work or cowboy), t-shirts and jeans.
Personality: This is a little harder to define but I'll try. A good sense of humor is key. A nice guy but not a pushover. A touch of bad ass without being an idiot. A bit of swagger and arrogance...again, without being an idiot. That guy who can work a look. By that I mean when he looks your way your toes curl and you want to giggle like a 13 year old. Male, period. The kind of guy who exudes maleness.
These are the guys that consistanly turn my head. This doesn't mean I'll end up marrying my type or even dating my type. I'm ok with that because besides my type I like a wide range of looks and personalities. "My type" is not the only type that turns my head.
I don't know if any of this makes sense but there you have it.
