Dromond
Pleasantly abstruse.
As well as BOTH Republican responses?
My brief impressions:
The Address - President Obama was presidential. His speech laid out the challenges facing us and how best to meet them. I've been pretty disappointed in the Prez of late, but I will give him props for a great speech. I liked a lot of what I heard.
The Official Response - Paul Ryan's response was tepid. It was restrained and somewhat conciliatory. He avoided the kind of catastrophe that erased Bobby Jindal from political existence, but what he was left with was about as interesting as spackle.
The Tea Party Response - Michelle Bachmann presented a glassy eyed figure, her eyes locked onto a teleprompter with a death grip. She came across as creepy. Her speech was no response at all, but rather a typical tea party rant. She didn't give any indication she'd even heard the speech, as her pontificating didn't address any part of it.
