Has anyone proposed that? Anyone? That would promote equality, and should cure "outrage" because people do have rights, BUT putting up "just a mosque" is not consistent with those rights, of the victims of the attack. Or, perhaps putting up an institution or a building of each faith, (like a U.N. of Churches of sorts, even Atheists) ON Ground Zero, to truly celebrate the letter and spirit of the First Amendment? Is that a bad idea? Would that solve the problem?
Or, does rhetoric and party line prevail?
ALL Faiths were lost in the attacks...
ALL Faiths are equal, Christian not more so than Muslim but Islam not more so than Christianity...
And putting a Mosque with such anti-American leadership is a matter that breaches national security as well.
Is this a good balance, to build either a Church and a Mosque, perhaps this church that was destroyed when the tower fell on it http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/17/ground-zero-church-archdiocese-says-officials-forgot/ that is being treated separate yet unequal, or is this a nonsense idea? Sounds pretty sound to me!
