This is my first post on the Forums, although I've enjoyed Dimensions for many years. I'm a practicing physician, and I assisted on a few WLS cases when I rotated on Surgery in med school and residency. One day while we were in pre-op clinic, a prominent Bariatric Surgery attending told me, only half in jest, "Most of these patients don't need the surgery. They could lose almost as much weight if they just ate what the post-op patients were restricted to." Most people (myself included) don't have that kind of willpower, but it doesn't have any of the risks of surgery. Something to consider.
